COVID-19: A Message from Dr. Myers

March 19, 2020

Dear Valued Patients,

In an effort to support national efforts to fight the COVID- 19 pandemic, our practice is taking the following steps to help assure your health and well-being and that of our community:

  • We are following directives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a way to limit patient and staff exposure to this virus.
  • Your health, and the health of our dedicated staff, matters to us, so going forward we will suspend all non-emergency care until further notice.
  • Patients will be seen only for urgent and emergency dental needs.
  • Our office is closed for routine care until further notice.

We will be in contact with you soon to reschedule routine hygiene and dental treatment appointments.

Of course, please call us right away if you have a dental emergency or need immediate care. We are here for you in the best way possible.

We will have you know that we are in the midst of implementing increased affective measures for you to communicate with our staff and Dr. Myers through a Teledental portal. This, we know, will be the best way to answer questions and consult with you in amore enhanced manner in today’s environment and moving forward.

Stay tuned… We will have information out on how to access us in this way hopefully within the next week.

Unfortunately, Dr. Myers has made the very difficult decision to not accept new patients at this time. This saddens us as we have always welcomed new patients. This is simply due to our limited protective supplies. We sincerely hope that this will lift sooner rather than later as protective supplies and equipment become more readily available.

For now, Emerald Isle Smiles Dental Studio urges you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We can be reached by phone at 252-354-4688 or by email to and will respond as soon as we can.

Should you schedule an emergency or urgent appointment with us, you will be directed to call our office at the number above from your vehicle upon arrival into the parking lot.   A staff member will then greet you, perform a pre-screening questionnaire and you will be directed from there. We will not be allowed to have a visitor accompany you unless a guardian is necessary. If so, this guardian will need to be pre-screened and cleared as well before entering the dental office.

As inconvenient as this may be, we hope for understanding as the safety and well-being of our patients continues to be our primary concern. We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 nationally and within our community and keep you up-to-date regarding our plans to reopen for business as usual.

Continue to look for our posts and updates on, Facebook & Instagram.

We miss you, and we thank you for being our patient!

Be Well,

Dr. Myers and The Emerald Isle Smiles Dental Studio Team
