Porcelain Veneers An Overview
Porcelain veneers can be used for subtle cosmetic changes or as a part of a total smile makeover. Porcelain veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments due to their long term success and natural results.
Porcelain veneers are high-quality dental ceramic shells made to cover up cosmetic blemishes. Dr. Myers will custom fabricate thin shells that will fit snugly over teeth to close gaps and eliminate imperfections. If you have teeth that are chipped, broken, discolored or misshapen, porcelain veneers may be right for you.
Emerald Isle, NC cosmetic dentist Dr. Myers has advanced training and over 19 years of experience to provide natural looking, durable porcelain veneers. Her natural eye for facial esthetics allows her to create veneers that blend seamlessly with the natural smile for stunning results.
Porcelain Veneers What to Expect
Receiving dental veneers may require up to three visits to our Emerald Isle, NC dentist office to design, create, and place.
Dr. Myers will begin with a personalized dental exam and cosmetic consultation of your teeth and smile. This one-on-one time with Dr. MYers allows patients to voice their concerns, and to share their aesthetic goals. Together, the patient and Dr. Myers will build a treatment plan that will provide a stable and healthy oral foundation and a beautiful smile.
On the next visit, Dr. Myers will conservatively remove a minimal amount of tooth enamel to make room for the dental veneer. Most patients have about 1/2 millimeter of enamel removed from each tooth. Then, impressions will be taken of the teeth and used for the fabrication of the final dental veneer. In many cases, Dr. Myers will fit the patients with custom temporary veneers while their permanent veneers get fabricated.
In about 2-3 week, the dental veneers will be done and ready to adhere to the teeth. Dr. Myers will ensure that the fit and color of the veneers meet the patient’s approval. Dr. Myers will clean the teeth and permanently bond the veneers to the teeth. Results are immediate, and patients can return to their routine after treatment.
